When and where will the Latino Career Expo take place?

Thursday, May 16th, 2024, in the Empire Ballroom of the Marriott Courtyard Boston Downtown, located at 275 Tremont St., Boston, MA from 1:00PM – 5:00PM

 

What type of companies/organizations will attend?

Banks, tech companies, hospitals, retail, mortgage, security, colleges and universities, governmental agencies, telemarketing, temporary agencies, municipalities, social service agencies, and many more.

 

I’m not latino but I can speak Spanish, or I’m latino but don’t speak Spanish,

can I attend this event?

Everyone is welcome! Although the event is directed to the hispanic community, we welcome people from all ethnicities and cultures. No matter your background, experience, education level, language spoken, or career path. We want to open doors for everyone in Boston and surrounding areas.

Can I bring non-latino friends to the event?

Of course! We want to bring job opportunities to as many people as we can! The goal is to connect employers with as many job seekers as possible. This event is an open invitation to ANYONE looking for a job.

What level of experience are the companies in the event looking for?

All employers on site are looking for various levels of experience, whether you are a student starting your career, or someone looking for a career change, we welcome you and hope you are able to find a job that will benefit your future.

What is the suggested dress code? 

We suggest a business casual dress code. But even if you are unable to follow it, we want to focus on your skills and know you will be able to demonstrate your talent no matter your attire.

I uploaded my resumé, do I need to bring more?

It is recommended that you do, some of the recruiters are okay with digital resumes, but it never hurts to bring some printed ones to physically hand them out.

What materials should I bring in person?

We encourage you to bring your resume, and a great attitude to connect with all the potential employers at the venue!

​

Do I need to be in the event the whole time?

It is not necessary to be there the whole time, we encourage you to spend as much time as you need talking and networking with all of the employers and fellow job seekers. 

​

Should I expect to be hired in this event?

This will all depend on the employers, there have been on-the-spot hires on previous occasions but this will be a decision made by the employers.

 

Is there public parking near the venue?

Yes, there is a large, secure, public parking facility across the street from the Marriott Courtyard Boston Downtown.

 

Is the venue accessible by public transportation?      
The LCE is easily accessible by public transportation, just minutes away from the MBTA’s Boylston Green Line Stop and Tufts Medical Center on the Orange line.

What will happen with the resumé I submitted?

All the collected resumes will be delivered to the employers after the event. Which is why we encourage you to submit it beforehand or on the day of the event at the registration table.
