how to interview
If you want to rise above others in an interview situation you will need to project a highly positive attitude — and look sharp! Your attitude determines whether you will make a lasting impression or be passed over. If you have the attitude of wanting to do your very best for the company, and of putting yourself forth as the person who will be committed and dedicated to fulfilling their needs, the impression you make will help the recruiter to remember your name and face when you do make contact again. There are many resumes for the employers to filter through after the expo is over, be sure to make an impression! See photo album. The Latino Career Expo will provide a venue to reach this booming community, both to employers and to young, dynamic job seekers. Some of the employers who will be present are:

...and don't forget your resume!
You've written your resume — remember to bring it. You should take the following steps to ensure quality:

* Run a spell check on your computer before anyone sees your resume.
* Get a friend to do a grammar review.
* Ask another friend to proofread. The more people who see your resume, the more likely that misspelled words and awkward phrases will be seen (and corrected).* Use white or off-white paper.
* Use 8-1/2- x 11-inch paper.
* Print on one side of the paper.
* Use a font size of 10 to 14 points.
* Use non decorative typefaces.
* Choose one typeface and stick to it.
* Avoid italics, script, and underlined words.
* Do not use horizontal or vertical lines, graphics, or shading.
* Do not fold or staple your resume.

dress for success!
Dressing sharp, though conservatively, is a sure way of showing yourself from your most professional side:

* Conservative two-piece suit
* Conservative long-sleeved shirt or blouse
* Clean, polished shoes
* Well-groomed hair and nails
* Minimal cologne or perfume
* No gum, candy or cigarettes
* Necktie should be conservative
* Shoes with conservative heels
